Waiting for Wisdom

Dear Readers,

Well, now that I am old, I keep wondering, where is the wisdom? Everyone keeps telling you get wiser when you age! LOL

I mean, I still carry cups of coffee, water, and bags of stuff and wonder why I spill the coffee! Where is the wisdom in that!

I am slow, having so many things to put on, take out, put in my body each morning and night! Glasses, cochlear implants, pills, eye drops, other unmentionable things!
Yet, do I plan extra time? No. Still run out of the door yelling, “I’m late!”

I am wise enough to have finally learned to pack the night BEFORE a trip! So, maybe I can learn a few new things!

I am finding myself being louder, happier, and not so bound to myself these days. Went to buy some bigger sized clothes, with Mr. UT, and ended up laughing with the clerks, all middle aged women, telling them all about our strange but wonderful marriage! (Mr. UT was so happy about that!)

Maybe my wisdom is showing up in a different form than I thought. Maybe it comes in the form of self-compassion, living easier, forgiveness, lighter living, and laughing. After all, I have learned from experience that self-hate, perfectionism, and resentments do not help me and don’t help the people I love!

I know I’ll make plenty of mistakes in the coming years, maybe spilling a whole cup of coffee in the car forgetting it was on the dash, but I AM wise enough to give myself a pass. I am human after all.

While Eating Left Over Corn Bread,

On Day 1915,

Wendy

PS – I actually cooked for the first time in many, many years! I made beef stew and cornbread!! Turned out really well, I must say! Mr. UT is still in shock!

  1. Never trust a person with a spotless shirt๐Ÿ˜œ
Beef stew looks good. Do you eat the corn bread instead of potatoes with the stew. Looks delicious๐Ÿ˜‹ Not something we eat here in New Zealand.

  2. Yummy, I love soups and stews this time of year. Yours looks delicious! From the outside (me looking at you) you seem to have bounds of wisdom, with the way you write and express yourself. However, I know looking from within, we sometimes don’t appreciate all we do know and understand. I say, your bounty of joy, is where your wisdom lies strongest! xo, Lia

  3. What you wrote, (see below) says you have plenty of wisdom. Ya looking for something you clearly already possess. Hurrah to you. โ€˜Maybe my wisdom is showing up in a different form than I thought. Maybe it comes in the form of self-compassion, living easier, forgiveness, lighter living, and laughing. 4. WOWOWOW Wendy that cornbread looks AMAZING, you have inspired me to make some of my own – for the first time ever!!! Also, I think that there is nothing more wise than “wisdom comes in the form of self-compassion, living easier, forgiveness, lighter living, and laughing”. Here you have achieved the greatest wisdom of all, and we all should/can be inspired by this and cultivate it on a daily basis, drop by drop, grain of sand by grain of sand โค So thank you for embodying this wisdom every day and sharing it with us on here โค now, TIME FOR CORNBREAD ๐Ÿ˜‰
